Courageous stand pays off in Iowa

“Dear God, please allow the IRS to attack my church, so I can take them all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court,” a prayer regularly recited by Cary Gordon, pastor of Cornerstone World Outreach in Sioux City, Iowa.

Gordon was one of the state’s leading campaigners against the re-election of three Iowa Supreme Court judges who voted earlier this year to force the state to recognize same-sex marriages. Gordon told the news media he urged his congregation to vote the justices out of office.

All three were voted out by Iowa voters on Tuesday in one of the more under-reported stories of this week’s elections.
