Seattle megachurch has tailgate party for Seahawks, mixes prayer and beer

A Seattle church of 4,000 congregants met this morning for church, but unlike anything you and I have probably ever seen. They held a tailgate party to worship and watch the Seattle Seahawks play in the NFL playoffs. That’s right, a tailgate party full of prayer, pulled pork and beer. Read it for yourself in the Seattle Times right here.

Very sad that this is what church has become for some. What happened to worship to the Lord? What happened to it being all about God and not about us? It looks like fun, partying, the community, etc. took priority. I guess keeping the Sabbath holy is out. It was interesting to read some of the comments at the link you had. Folks saying they’d come to church now. Now that there’s chips, dip, and football I guess. Oh, and beer too. Don’t know what to say anymore.
